Unable to login to Blackboard Learn despite using IE9 or higher

If you are receiving an error when trying to access Blackboard Learn that states you are using a version of Internet Explorer that is too old yet you are using IE9 or higher you may have Compatibility View turned on. Please follow the steps below to turn off Compatibility View in your browser:

  1. In Internet Explorer, click Compatibility View settings on the Tools menu. If you do not see the Tools menu, press ALT.
  2. In Websites you've added to Compatibility View select and remove any references to imperial websites
  3. Untick options for using Microsoft Lists, Display Intranet sites in Compatibility View, Display all websites in Compatibility View
  4. Close the Compatibility View Settings window, after a couple of seconds the page should update and allow you to login.

Please note: if you are using a version of IE lower than 9 you will need to upgrade to a newer version or use an alternative browser.
